Dragonflies & Iris in oatmeal ceramic vessel

Development piece
When I have new ideas, I have to make and fire finished pieces to see how this works and if I can develop this further.

This vessel has been carved in my normal way but I have used a new oatmeal stoneware and added extra carved details and no colour except for the eyes and the iris pollen. I have bent and carved in the top allowing the decoration to fully interact with the form. As this is a development piece and it has not been glazed inside.

This piece measures 22.5cm high/ 9cm wide/ foot 4cm/ weight 832 grams
