Butterfly & Hibiscus sgraffito ceramic wall hanging

Inspiration for this piece was taken from a tropical butterfly which I placed with a hibiscus plant in flower.

Every unique design has been created by hand with love, care and attention to detail.
Once completed the piece is left to dry and fired in an electric kiln I have chosen not to glaze this piece at all leaving the surface matt.

This piece has been thrown on the wheel, left to slightly dry and then goes through many different techniques using a handmade stencil, drawing, clay slips and sgraffito to create the intricate designs onto the damp clay surface, this takes many hours and no two pieces will ever look the same.

All of my wall hangings have four felt feet and a disc hanger attached to the back for hanging.

This piece measures 12.5cm across / 0.5cm deep / 125 grams
