Three mice ceramic wall hanging

This wall hanging has been thrown on the wheel using a very white stoneware clay and while it’s still damp coloured clay slips have been applied to the surface through a handmade stencil.

I have used sgraffito to draw the delicate lines onto each design and added extra slip colours to the eyes and bodies. This takes many hours of work and no two pieces will ever look the same.

Only the mice have been glazed giving them a lovely shimmer leaving the rest of the decoration matte. Once completed these are left to dry for a few weeks and fired twice in an electric kiln.

All of my wall hangings have a disc hanger attached to the back as well as four felt feet. Each piece I create is unique and made by hand.
